About

Who We Are

The Afghanistan Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), established in 2009, is a national scientific and professional body dedicated to unifying anesthesiologists and anesthesia technicians across the country. ASA works to elevate professional standards, strengthen clinical competencies, and enhance patient safety within Afghanistan’s healthcare system.

What We Do

ASA delivers a broad range of academic and professional development programs, including continuing education, scientific seminars, online and in‑person conferences, and structured knowledge‑sharing platforms. Through partnerships with regional and global organizations—such as SAARC and the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA)—ASA ensures its members have access to the latest international advancements in anesthesia.

Leadership

The Society is governed by an elected Chairman and Board of Directorate composed of senior, highly respected specialists. The leadership oversees strategic planning, policy development, program implementation, and national and international representation. Transparency, participation, and accountability form the foundation of ASA’s governance.

Our History

Founded in response to the need for a unified professional body, ASA has played a pivotal role in consolidating expertise, promoting scientific development, and representing Afghan anesthesiologists nationally and globally since 2009.
